| Alas, I have thinned each spot down to one plant (although the metaphor of weeding out the weakest causes me some pain-- this is, after all, a pumpkin grown in memory of a sick child). |

| The current forerunner, a seedling growing solo for several weeks now. I had planted a random seed before the first plants got munched. Markus replaced it with one marked 2005 from our neighbor Elizabeth's garden. So it's not truly a "?" anymore. Those were awesome pumpkins she grew. |
